We are seeking applications from experienced registered nurses who are interested in providing postnatal nursing care in the maternity setting and in the Delivery Suite as part of the wider multidisciplinary team.

Due to a national and local midwifery shortage it has become important to prioritise midwives to antenatal, labour, and birth care. We are seeking Registered Nurses with demonstrated clinical skill in an acute environment to work flexibly in Hine te iwaiwa (Birthing Suite) and to assist clinically in the wider maternity environment. Current or recent experience in emergency response, recognition and escalation of deteriorating patient, sepsis, complex medications, diabetes management, resuscitation, and cannulation will be required.  Neonatal care and breastfeeding skills would be an advantage.  Maternity specific skills, knowledge and training will be provided to you by the Midwife Educator.

Hours available 0.6FTE - 1.0FTE. We would also welcome applications from registered nurses who are keen to work casual hours.

If you have these skills and would relish a new challenge we would like to hear from you.
