MidCentral District Health Board actively seeks Māori into our workforce to reflect the community we serve.
Supportlinks is a Needs Assessment and Service Coordination (NASC) service and provides services to people with long term conditions, acute/short term needs, older people and Kaumatua, mental health and addictions in the MidCentral District Health Board region.
Supportlinks is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join their supportive team, who is keen to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve to enable them to live well in the community.
You will need to:
  • Be able to work within a changing health environment
  • Be able to incorporate a mana enhancing and restorative approach, and have an equity focus within your practice
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge and work relationships with Iwi/Maori providers in the district
  • Utilise your knowledge of community resources and networks
  • Have prior experience working within older persons services, mental health and addiction, or disability related fields
  • Be comfortable with using a laptop and learning new assessment software
This is a full time position predominantly located in Horowhenua and at times will involve travel to visit people in the wider DHB region.
Enquiry is welcomed from candidates who hold an annual practicing certificate in any of the following disciplines; nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy or social work.

MidCentral District Health Board employs more than 2500 staff at Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and Otaki districts.
Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000. In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools.
Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures. Wellington the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa.
