MidCentral District Health Board has an exciting opportunity for a registered occupational therapist to join the Occupational Therapy Department at Palmerston North Hospital.
 
This permanent role is full time working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
 
The position is rotational working across the acute wards including medical, surgical orthopaedic, older persons, and rehabilitation services and is ideally suited to new graduate therapists or those with experience in acute settings. You will work as part of multidisciplinary teams and manage an in-patient caseload with follow up in the community as required. Dependent on your experience and skills you may be working in a rotational position on our acute wards (less than two years’ experience) or in our STAR - ‘Assessment Treatment and Rehabilitation Unit (greater than two years’ experience).
 
The successful applicant will be someone who has effective oral and interpersonal communication skills, is able to work under pressure and direction, and will enjoy meeting the challenges of a varied and changing workload. 
 
There may be circumstances in which you will need to work in other areas of Occupational Therapy including community based services.

Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures. Wellington the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa.
