Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatū, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.
MidCentral operates an integrated model of clinical service delivery. Te Uru Ruahī (Mental Health & Addictions services) is responsible for the commissioning and delivery of MH&A services across the rohe. The new model of care Te Mātāpuna o te Ora, focuses on an integrated treatment approach for those who would benefit from mental health and addiction services.
Our new eating disorder service is focused on developing talking therapies and related interventions across our three districts and includes an Interdisciplinary Team approach. If you have a focus on effective evidence-based interventions, please consider applying to this newly designed team with Child Adolescent and Family services as well as our Adult teams.
The Opportunity
This role will sit in the Manawatu Locality (Palmerston North and Feilding catchment area) but may also provide some services across the rohe. The eating disorder services will be delivered in line with national and international evidence based best practice principles.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a level of knowledge and skill in the assessment and management mental health eating disorder presentations within a community setting. The role will also include being involved in an inter-disciplinary team approach across mental health & addiction.
