MidCentral DHB provides a regional tertiary Cancer Treatment Service providing Medical Oncology, Haematology and Radiation Oncology to the populations of Taranaki, Whanganui, Hawkes Bay and MidCentral DHBs.
Outpatient clinics form a large part of this role. As one of our team of four registrars you will participate in local clinics and share attendance at Regional clinics. There are regular education sessions and opportunities to be involved in clinical trials in a fast changing area of medicine. In addition support to the inpatients is provided in conjunction with Medical Oncologists, and a House Officer.
The week day on call roster is 1600 – 2300. Weekends are 0800 – 2300.
Call frequency is 1 in 10.
The city of Palmerston North is very liveable and affordable. No sitting in traffic - a 5 – 15 minute commute is the norm and there is lots to do on your down time.
