The Opportunity
 
An exciting opportunity has become available within the Child Development Service for an Occupational Therapist with an interest in working with tamariki/children and their whānau/community support. The position is 32 hrs per week (0.8 FTE); fixed term from the 4th of September 2023 to the 4th of February 2024 (5 months).
 
The successful applicant will provide a high-quality occupational therapy through assessment, consultation and therapy services to children alongside their families/support network who are referred through the Child Development Service of MidCentral.   The tamariki may be referred due to development delay, reduced mobility and cognitive ability.
This role would suit an experienced practitioner who has a clear understanding of what type of services are needed by the children and whānau. Experience in working with a range of community providers and the education sector would be an advantage.
 
The Child Development Service is based at the Palmerston North Hospital however provides a region wide service.  It is a multi-disciplinary Allied Health service providing a range of assessment, intervention and support services to children with developmental and behavioural concerns and their whānau who reside within the MidCentral district.
