(Scope of Practice: Occupational Therapy)
 
The Occupational Therapy Service at Palmerston North Hospital has a full time permanent and part time (0.6FTE) permanent vacancy for experienced NZ registered occupational therapists.

These roles are based in the STAR (Treatment, Assessment & Rehabilitation) unit. The purpose of the roles in STAR is to provide quality occupational therapy assessment and interventions to clients in a rehabilitation setting.
 
The positions would suit an occupational therapist with experience in rehabilitation.  Accreditation for wheelchair, postural management and basic housing modifications would be an advantage. Support and training will be provided to ensure you have the skills to carry out your role.

We are looking for an occupational therapist who is:
  •  Enthusiastic, energetic, resilient, with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Has eexperience and the ability to work effectively within a team
  • Ability to adapt and flex to trial new ways of working
  • Strong desire to help clients and whānau achieve their goals
  • Effective written, oral and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures. 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • New Zealand registered Occupational Therapist, with a current practicing certificate 
  • Holds Enable NZ Accredited Assessor status, be Service Accredited or eligible to become accredited with appropriate training
  • A full, current, driver’s licence is essential
  • Holds relevant residency status to work in New Zealand
