A Duty Nurse Manager is a nurse with experience working clinically and managerially at a senior level, with strong leadership qualities.
These positions require the successful applicants to undertake senior clinical nursing functions such as supporting staff to care for the deteriorating patients across the hospital, attending MET calls and responding to escalation alerts through the VRM warning system. In addition they will require the knowledge of the operational management of the hospital covering hospital bed management, staff management and patient flow.

Two part time positions are available, one is permanent, one temporary until September 2023. This temporary role will give a senior RN an opportunity to see if they have both the leadership and clinical skills to consider this a role for the future.
Both roles will be working rostered and rotating through all the shifts and through both the clinical and operational roles.
If you are interested in this opportunity then we would like to hear from you.

MidCentral is committed to ensuring that children and young people are safe from abuse and harm. As part of our commitment to children and young people, and in line with the Childrens Act 2014, appointment to positions that involve regular or overnight contact with children will include worker safety checks. These checks are in addition to the requirement to have a satisfactory police clearance. Further information will be provided to shortlisted candidates. More information about the Childrens Act 2014 is available from the Ministry for Children (Oranga Tamariki) website.
