Are you an experienced and passionate communications professional looking for your next challenge? Then this is the role for you.

Working for Enable New Zealand, the largest provider of disability equipment and modification services in New Zealand, you will play a pivotal role in providing a comprehensive communications package for internal staff across our four sites, as well as helping to build our reputation among external stakeholders.

Based at our head office in Palmerston North, this role requires someone with a keen eye for a story, who can help raise the profile of the work of our organisation, and who can play a key part in building an engaging, open and inclusive culture of internal communication in house.
You’ll be responsible for gathering facts and information from across a range of teams and departments, and turning those into great stories and pieces of engaging content that can be repurposed across a number of channels for a range of target audiences. You’ll be a fantastic communicator, someone who can develop, create and implement great ideas and initiatives and who meets deadlines with passion.

You’ll have experience of updating websites and intranets using a CMS and be keen to identify and try out new ideas and practices when it comes to sharing messages and stories both internally and externally. You’re organised and able to plan your work in advance, while still remaining flexible enough to confidently deal with last minute or urgent communications tasks. Experience within the disability or government sector would be an advantage but not essential, as would knowledge of web accessibility standards.

For this role you will have:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, digital media or relevant field
  • At least three years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ideally have experience in using Adobe Creative Suite package, in particular InDesign, Illustrator and PhotoShop
  • Experience with adding, editing and deleting content using CMS
  • Ability to stay up to date with new social media and communications technologies and strategies

If this sounds like the challenge you’ve been looking for then apply today. In return for your expertise and passion, we’ll help develop your skills through mentoring and training opportunities and ensure you feel supported and able to try out new ideas by being part of our small but innovative Marketing & Communications team. Our team’s vision is to ensure our staff feel part of the bigger picture at Enable and that through a comprehensive and integrated communications and marketing plan we showcase the personality behind the Enable brand within an emerging commercial sector position.

If you’ve got the skills and experience we’re looking for, we’d love to have you on board. Please apply online with your cover letter and CV, if you have any questions in regards to this role please contact Rhi Galpin, Communication and Marketing Specialist.
