Diabetes and Endocrinology Service, MidCentral Health
(Scope of practice – Registered Nurse)
We are seeking a highly motivated registered nurse to join the MidCentral Health Specialist Diabetes and Endocrinology Service Team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. The Clinical Nurse Specialist–Diabetes will function within the specialty of diabetes providing clinical expertise and nursing leadership in acute and specialist services across primary and secondary care practice settings. This position has a key focus on providing expert diabetes care to people with diabetes across the lifespan to promote optimal management of their diabetes and related conditions. The Service covers the MDHB region so travel is a component of the role.
You will be a registered nurse who:
- Meets Level 4 of the MidCentral Health Professional Development Recognition Programme (Level 3 working towards Level 4 will be considered) eets Level 4 of the MidCentral Health Professional Development Recognition Programme (Level 3 working towards Level 4 will be considered)
- Has completed relevant postgraduate papers, minimum Postgraduate Diploma Nursing
- Is accredited via, or meets accreditation criteria of, the Aotearoa College of Diabetes Nurses (NZNO) national accreditation process,
- Can demonstrate a minimum of level 3 ‘Specialty Diabetes Nurse’ on the National Diabetes Knowledge and Skills Framework (2009).
Experience in diabetes care is preferred, and you will have a commitment to clinical excellence, teaching, self development, and professionalism.
