What we do

Health NZ – MidCentral (previously MidCentral District Health Board) provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across Manawatu, Horowhenua and Tararua.  With a large hospital campus at Palmerston North, the health care provider also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.
 
The Opportunity

The Clinical Equipment Manager is responsible for the execution and operation of a Clinical Equipment Asset Management Plan; clinical engineering services for clinical devices and systems, assuring the safety and reliability of clinical equipment; the development and maintenance of a clinical equipment library; and leading the loan equipment and supply store functions.  The team works in a sub-regional service between MidCentral and Whanganui Districts. 
 
This role includes lots of variety and will be active in monitoring a range of services and ensuring delivery.  The role will be extremely busy and requires someone who can co-ordinate multiple demands efficiently.  
 
What you’ll bring
  • Significant experience in asset management, demonstrating progressive leadership.
  • Experience in staff supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimise processes and improve logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or coordinate projects and to deliver against commitments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent listening skills with the ability to connect and collaborate at all levels.
  • The ability to relate to a wide variety of people with consideration and diplomacy.
  • Technology enabled, excellent computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite and asset management systems.
  • Ability to be confident, appropriately assertive when dealing with others and effectively deal with conflict to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Knowledge of the health and disability sector is desirable.
We are looking for someone with previous experience who can demonstrate leading and coordinating activities to successful conclusion, tenacity, high energy and the right ‘can do’ attitude demonstrated by an ability to respond positively to a changing working environment and fluctuating workloads.
