(Scope of Practice - Occupational Therapy)
The Occupational Therapy team at MidCentral delivers services to a wide range of client groups from three sites, Palmerston North Hospital, Horowhenua Health Centre and Dannevirke Community Hospital.
Occupational Therapy services are provided to the acute inpatient wards, rehabilitation and Elder Health wards and outpatients/community clients. This team is not responsible for delivery of service to mental health, child development or intellectual disability services.
This exciting and challenging position comprises 20 hours clinical coordination and 20 hours clinical case load.
Primary responsibilities include clinical leadership, supervision and day to day operational management of the Occupational Therapy team. Other responsibilities include modelling best practice, evaluating the outcomes of interventions, triaging or over site of inpatient and community referrals and supporting the Professional Advisor Occupational Therapy in educating others in the occupational therapy role.
The applicant must have a recognised occupational therapy qualification and annual practising certificate, at least five years clinical work including: experience in supervising Occupational Therapists, excellent leadership, communication skills, enthusiasm, and self motivation. A driver’s licence is essential.
