Applying for positions at MidCentral DHB
The following is a guide of MidCentral DHB's application process and provides applicants with advice about what information is useful to include in your application.

Submitting your application:
All applicants are required to complete an official form of application.

You can choose to submit your application via our apply on-line process, in which you complete the online form, attaching your CV and covering letter. If you are using the apply on-line form, please note the following mandatory fields which need to be completed:
Please also note attachments (CV, letter etc.) must be smaller than 8MB in size. If your attachment is larger than 8MB, please continue to fill in this application form, without attaching your CV, and then email separately to Human Resources.

In submitting your application, please include as much information as possible, in the following categories:
- Qualifications - Education relevant to your application (includes Academic, Professional or Trade Training). Indicate University, Technical College, Evening Classes, etc. Nursing applicants should enter school of nursing attended and scope of practice.
- Competencies - Give a description of how you consider that you meet each of the essential competencies (skills, knowledge, attributes) set out in the job description. Include examples gained from education, work experience or community work. If you are a Health Practitioner covered by the HPCA Act, you may also be requested to provide evidence that you meet the competencies set out by your registration authority, such as a portfolio.
The option to submit a covering letter is also available. Please include anything else you would like to tell us about yourself that you feel is relevant to the position you are applying for, eg. voluntary work, personal interests or hobbies.
It is important to note that the time to process applications through the recruitment process can vary for each position advertised. All applicants will receive an initial acknowledgement of their application via the post or online (dependent on how you apply).

Interviews:
Once all applications have been considered, applicants who have been shortlisted will be contacted for an interview. Interviews are usually panel interviews, however for some senior positions a presentation may also be requested. Work assessments may also be requested in administration areas.
If shortlisted, you will be required to complete a Health Declaration and a Criminal Conviction and Charges Pending form. Copies of these will be included in the letter confirming your interview details. If you are a Health Practitioner you will be asked to provide evidence of your current Practising Certificate.
If you are applying for a position as a Consultant, Specialist, Medical Officer of Special Scale (MOSS), Registrar, Senior House Officer or House Surgeon, then you will also be required to fill in the following forms: Declaration of any loss or surrender of medical license to practise or hospital suspensions and Release of Liability.
All unsuccessful applicants will be notified post interview, with an unsuccessful letter. If you would like your CV returned at the completion of the recruitment process please include a self addressed, stamped envelope with your application.
