    A and D Counsellors


    AOD counsellors/practitioners have been an integral part of the AOD multidisciplinary team for a number of years. The current counselling team comprises a mix of generic and addiction-focused training, with some counsellors qualified in other disciplines.

    Anaesthetic Technicians


    Anaesthetic technicians of MidCentral District Health Board (DHB) have enjoyed a long standing Educational Provider / Training Hospital relationship with the Auckland University of Technology (AUT), accomplishing their long distance theoretical training by completing a diploma in applied science [Anaesthetic Technology].

    Dietitians


    The MidCentral Health area provides numerous opportunities for dietitians working within both the hospital setting and the four primary health organisations (PHOs).

    Pharmacy


    Palmerston North Hospital Pharmacy department employs NZ Registered Pharmacists (8) and qualified Pharmacy Technicians (5). It takes one intern a year from either Otago or Auckland School of Pharmacy. (See vacancies in this webpage for any current positions available).

  • Physiotherapists


    Physiotherapy positions at MidCentral Health offer a variety of experience and location as it also covers Pahiatua, Dannevirke and Horowhenua Health Centres. Rotations on the ward include orthopaedics, medical and surgical.

  • Psychology


    MidCentral Health have a strong and supportive team of Clinical Psychologists working in both the physical rehabilitation areas as well as Mental Health Services.

  • Radiation Therapy


    Otago university's Bachelor of Health Science (Medical Radiation Therapy) is a vocational degree, which has a large practical component. MidCentral Health supports this degree by offering three placements a year for student radiation therapists. This degree has a competitive entry involving an interview process.

  • Social Work


    MidCentral Health has enjoyed a longstanding working relationship with the Massey University school of social work and social policy. Massey has supplied top quality graduates from their four year bachelors degree in social work programme and the masters applied programme to MidCentral Health.
