Registration:
All library users must complete and sign a registration form which is available from library reception.
Borrowing:
All books and journals must be signed out at the reception desk. Most books and journals are available for loan to registered library users. The loan period is four weeks with right of recall if required urgently.
Contents page service:
A list of journals held by MidCentral DHB is available. Contents pages from the journal of your choice will be forwarded to you on a regular basis. Contents pages will be forwarded electronically (if available) or in print format.
Current awareness service:
"What's new in the journals"
A quarterly bulletin via email of abstracts from randomly selected articles from the latest journals.
Snippets @ your library:
These are mini news bulletins advising of new features, additions to the collection etc. and are sent via email.
Interlibrary loans:
Full interlibrary loan services are available.
This library is a member of the HealthLib Network which offers free interloan services from most libraries in the health field in New Zealand. There may be a charge if obtaining interloans from outside this network – usual charge is $14 but urgent requests may be $20 - $30.
Most journal articles are obtained within five days.
Infotrieve Document Delivery Service is used to obtain articles not available in New Zealand.
Cost: $24 - $30 per article.
All interlibrary loan items should be returned or renewed by the due date, no renewal requests will be processed after this. Overdue items will be charged at 10c per day. Interloan books must be collected from the library.
Library News:
Library Committee Meeting - the next meeting will be held on 28th July 2010. Notices will be sent out 2 weeks prior to the meeting.
"Making the best use of your library" sessions in the Education Centre are not being offered in 2010. If you would like a personal tutorial please contact the library for an appointment.

Library Committee:
All suggestions for book or journal purchases should be forwarded to the Manager, Library Services for consideration by the Library Committee. The committee meets quarterly.
