General Pandemic Planning

MidCentral District Health Board (DHB) is preparing for any potential influenza pandemic. A multi-disciplinary team, the MidCentral DHB Pandemic Planning Group, is refining the MidCentral DHB Pandemic Plan. The Pandemic Planning Group membership includes clinicians, infection control specialists, emergency department staff, public health, primary care, risk management personnel, human resources and communications advisers.

The Pandemic Planning Group is also working with other agencies including Civil Defence, regional and district councils and of course MidCentral DHB’s Palmerston North Hospital. MidCentral DHB’s pandemic planning internally and externally with other agencies, will ensure a coordinated response for any potential pandemic influenza.
