Community Health Provider Emergency Planning
Emergency management is about ensuring communities can effectively respond to disasters and other unplanned events and recover from them efficiently.
Community based providers including General Practitioners, Community Pharmacies and Rest Homes are the foundation of the healthcare system day to day basis and as such need clearly defined, documented and practiced business continuance and emergency response plans to ensure service delivery continues during and after an emergency event.
No matter the scale of the emergency whether the event is a fire within the business or a major disaster that effects the entire region, community providers will be key in ensuring our communities remain resilient.
The MDHB Emergency Management Team have put together a variety of resources to assist community providers in their emergency planning.
