MidCentral DHB takes your privacy seriously. This privacy policy governs your use of the MidCentral District Health Board (MDHB) website www.midcentraldhb.govt.nz and any mobile device application(s) created by MDHB or on behalf of MDHB.

 

By using this site and and/or any application(s) you are consenting to processing of your information as set forth in this privacy policy now and as amended by us. "Processing,” means using data on a computer/hand held device or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information.

 

MDHB only collects the following user information (where applicable):

(a)     your name, email address, contact details and message information;

(b)     recruitment information if you apply online for a MDHB vacancy;

(c)     information you provide us when you contact us for help.

 

MDHB may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type device you use, your unique device ID, the IP address of your device, your device operating system. We use this data to monitor and improve the use of the site, application and/or services. We do not associate your IP address with any other personally identifiable information except in case of violation of any terms of service.

 

When you use a mobile application, we may use GPS technology (or other similar technology) to determine your current location in order to help determine where you are and display a location map with other relevant activity. We do not share your current location with other users or partners.

 

If you do not want us to use your location, you should turn off the location services for the mobile application located in your device settings and/or within the mobile application.

 

MDHB is looking to improve user experience. To this end we reserve the right to use your data in an aggregate, non-identifying way to analyse trends, suggest best practices etc. In no way will this information be able to identify you. You can stop all collection of information by MDHB by easily uninstalling any application(s). You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your device or via the mobile application marketplace or network. You can also request to opt-out via email, at webmaster@midcentraldhb.govt.nz

 

MDHB will retain user provided data for a reasonable time. We will retain automatically collected information for up to two years and thereafter may store it in aggregate. If you’d like us to delete user provided data that you have provided, please contact us at webmaster@midcentraldhb.govt.nz and we will respond in a reasonable time. Please note that some or all of the user provided data may be required in order for an application(s) to function properly.

 

MDHB does not solicit data from or market to children under the age of 16. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at webmaster@midcentraldhb.govt.nz. We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.

 

MDHB is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information to authorised employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our application(s). All data sent between the server and web/mobile devices is encrypted. Please be aware that, although we endeavour to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

 

Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

 

MDHB does not use cookies for tracking purposes. You can choose to have your device warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your device settings.

 

This privacy policy was last modified at the date at the bottom of this page. It may be updated from time to time for any reason. You are advised to consult this privacy policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
