MidCentral DHB continues to achieve national health targets

MidCentral DHB has continued to make good progress toward achieving the Health Targets over the last quarter (April to June 2011) – exceeding the national average rates for three of the measures and matching it in two other measures.

More elective surgery discharges were delivered, again exceeding the planned volume for the quarter; more two-year-old children were immunised, exceeding the target for the quarter; more people who were admitted to hospital and who smoke tobacco were advised to quit; and all the people needing radiation therapy during the quarter had their treatment within four weeks.
