MDHB shows further improvements in Quarter 3 health targets

MidCentral DHB continued to make further progress toward achieving the six national Health Targets over this past quarter (January to March 2011) – exceeding the national average rates for all but one of the measures.

More elective surgical discharges were performed, again exceeding the planned volume for the quarter; more two-year-old children were immunised, exceeding the target for the quarter; more people who were admitted to hospital and who smoke tobacco were advised to quit; and all the people needing radiation therapy during the quarter had their treatment within the new four-week timeframe.
