Entries for the 2011 Health Awards open on Monday 25 July. Hosted by MidCentral DHB in October, the theme of this year’s awards programme is ‘Innovation and Integration’.
The theme is reflected in the Supreme Award – Excellence in Innovation and Integration in Health Care Award.
General Manager of MidCentral DHB’s funding division and awards’ sponsor, Mike Grant, said: “We have a number of individuals and teams out there doing exceptional work to improve the health outcomes for our community. Health professionals throughout the MidCentral district have immersed themselves in many projects that demonstrate excellence in innovation and integration, and this year we want to recognise that through our supreme award.”
The major award’s criteria is: “Applicants will demonstrate excellence in the delivery of an innovative and integrated health service. The elements of integration may include cross-sectoral work. Applications should clearly demonstrate improved health outcomes.”
This year, award categories have been updated from last year, reflecting the diversity of health service providers across the region. The awards span a wide range of categories from innovation and quality, to mentoring and work within the community.
