The Child Health/Tamariki Ora District Group will be holding an open forum on Monday 3 October 2011, from 7-9pm at Youth Space on Coleman Mall, Palmerston North.
Everyone who wants to discuss ways of improving the health and wellbeing of children in our district is invited to this meeting.
The forum will be held in World Café style, an intentional way to create a living network of conversations around questions that matter. A World Café conversation is a creative process for collaborative dialogue, sharing knowledge and creating possibilities for action in groups of all sizes.
Questions that will be discussed include: what is currently working well for children and parents when they need assistance with health and wellbeing, what is not, what could we be doing better collaboratively, and what resources or services are we currently missing in our community.
Feedback to these questions has been sought from parents and caregivers looking after well and sick young people, as well as young people who are unable to attend the forum. This feedback will be displayed at the forum.
MDHB Child Health Clinical Director, Dr Jeff Brown, said: “The Child Health/Tamariki Ora District Group is seeking to understand what families and whanau think would make a difference to the health and wellbeing of their children.
“The Child Health forum will provide an opportunity for individuals, community groups, and clinicians to come together to discuss and plan how to improve the health outcomes for our district’s children.
“The forum is free to attend, so please come along and help us plan for the future.”
