20/04/2009 | Respiratory volunteers

The respiratory laboratory at Palmerston North Hospital is seeking a number of people to volunteer for a testing study.
This study is required to ensure the equipment used for respiratory testing is accurate. The respiratory department require male volunteers aged between 50 to 70 years plus with “normal lungs” be tested on the equipment for quality control purposes.

To be eligible to participate, volunteers need to meet the following criteria:
•         Never smoked,
•         Never had lung diseases,
•         No recent chest illnesses, such as chest infections.

Following application and prior to testing, volunteers will be sent a detailed questionnaire to ensure they are suitable for the study, which may include a free lung check.

Anyone who wishes to take part in this testing study, and who meets the criteria, can contact the MidCentral Health Respiratory Service on (06) 350-8610.
