| Christmas menu PN Hospital
Roast lamb or turkey followed by plum pudding served with brandy sauce, or jelly and ice cream will be the main lunchtime meals served to patients spending Christmas Day in Palmerston North Hospital.
The turkey will be served with cranberry stuffing, and gravy; and the lamb, with gravy. Each option will have roast vegetable medley, and minted peas.
Patients requiring a vegetarian option can have festive vegetable frittata with plum sauce, while others on texture modified meals will be offered steamed vegetable medley and mashed potato with their choice of meats or frittata.
All patients will be offered a treat of Christmas cake or a Christmas mince tart to complete their meals.
The patients’ Christmas Day evening dinner will start with pumpkin soup, followed by either glazed cold ham with pineapple sauce; chicken, brie, and salad, with cranberry, in a dark rye sandwich; or carrot and mushroom loaf with steamed vegetables and mashed potato.
Evening desserts will be a choice from fruit trifle or jelly and ice cream.
