The Mobile Surgical Bus will recommence visits to Levin and Dannevirke on 28 October and 18 December respectively. Thereafter, visits will continue on the regular five week rotation.

The Bus has enabled patients to benefit from a number of procedures and surgery in and around their home towns rather than travelling to Palmerston North. It also has significantly enhanced the range of skills of local nurses.

Dr Stuart Gowland, Director, Mobile Surgical Services and Murray Georgel, CEO, MidCentral District Health Board are delighted that practical arrangements have been developed to enable the bus to regularly visit the district.  It will benefit all parties, particularly local residents, they said.
