| InZone Bus in MDHB region schools
An InZone bus that travels around high schools promoting a variety of careers will visit seven colleges in the MidCentral District Health Board region over the next two weeks.
Inside the bus are approximately 20 computers screens called PODs. Each POD promotes different careers. Students log onto the PODs and view a five minute film clip. This year health has three PODS depicting a variety of health careers, and four of the clips were shot in Palmerston North: a MidCentral Health Medical Radiation Technologist, a dental therapist, a lifeskills coach from Ryder Cheshire, and a sports injury prevention advisor from ACC.
The bus is visiting seven schools in our region - five in Palmerston North, and one each in Levin and Feilding between 22 and 30 July. MidCentral Health will have Human Resource representatives, and some young health professionals at each school during the visits. Students will visit the bus at each location during school hours.
The first visit is at Palmerston North Boys’ High School for Year 11 students on Wednesday 22 July. On Thursday (23 July) the bus moves to Feilding High School for year 11 and 12 students.
On Friday (24 July) the bus returns to Palmerston North to Girls’ High for Year 11 and 12 students.
On Monday (27 July) the bus will be at Freyberg High for some Year 10, and Year 11 students by Vautier Park. On Tuesday (28 July) it will be at Awatapu College, and the following day at St Peter’s College.
On Thursday 30 July it will be at Horowhenua College for year 12 and 13 students to see career options.
