Palmerston North Hospital Emergency Department entrance to reopen

 
For the past few months, access to ED has been through the main Hospital entrance while the regular entrance was under construction. From Tuesday morning this will no longer be the case, and the public is asked to use the entrance to the left of the main Hospital entrance if they are wanting to access ED.
 
The reconstruction of the entrance is part of a staged refurbishment of the Emergency Department that will include a more welcoming reception and waiting area, triage rooms to allow patients to be assessed in private, and improved facilities for relatives of critically ill patients.
 
The refurbishment is expected to improve the flow of patients, helping to reduce waiting times and enhance the experience for patients and other visitors.
