MidCentral DHB (MDHB) is proud to a major backer of the upcoming Health and Wellbeing Expo, to be held at the Palmerston North Convention Centre on 6 February.
The Waitangi Day event runs from 10am until 3pm with free entry, and gives the community a great opportunity to learn more about all the health services that are available in our district. There will be displays from over 60 exhibitors, ranging from MidCentral Health services through to gyms, retirement villages and non-profit health organisations.
The health sector is one of the biggest employers in Palmerston North, and this is one of the biggest events on the 2016 health calendar.
A Well Child Expo will also be run at the same time, on the first floor of the Convention Centre and will have stalls from a variety of organisations that are there to help give parents information and advice. These include immunisation services, kindergartens, pregnancy services, Sport Manawatu, Whakapai Hauora, and many more.
If you’re worried that the kids will get bored while you’re discussing these important topics, the expo has you covered. There will be entertainment, play areas, and competitions to keep the little ones occupied while the adults talk.
The aim is to create healthy communities, and this event is another way of letting the public know what services are available to them. There is such a variety of exhibitors that there is bound to be something for everyone. Whether you’re interested in taking up a gym membership, joining a pilates class, quitting smoking, looking at retirement villages, getting a hearing aid, finding out more about your pregnancy, or just want to learn more about what’s out there, this expo is for you.
