In just over a fortnight MidCentral DHB staff have supplied 59 pairs of new pyjamas for foster children.

Olive Ruby with the haul of pyjamas so farProject co-ordinator, Olive Ruby, a nurse in Infection Prevention and Control, said: “The drive is part of a national drive by Foster Hope NZ to give foster kids going into foster care something special that is new.

“Often these children move frequently and have very few things to call their own. This is a great effort by staff here to bring some cheer into these children’s lives.”

As well as pyjamas staff have also donated socks, beanies, blankets and dressing gowns.
