Three weeks ago Enable New Zealand launched an online request process for the Ministry of Health’s Child spectacle subsidy; it has been a great success with almost 4,000 being received so far.
The Ministry of Health Child Spectacle Subsidy is managed by Enable New Zealand and covers the whole of New Zealand. The new process that was launched on 22 January is an online application system that has been carefully developed in collaboration with B2Be. This process has eliminated the need for Optometrists and Opthalmologists to fill out and submit paper applications and ensured child spectacle subsidy applications are turned around quickly.
Enable New Zealand General Manager, Scott Ambridge is really excited about such excellent achievements in just three weeks.
He said: “I am so proud of the team who designed and implemented this online process that will help both optometrists and their clients. This system is invaluable for those children throughout the country who need glasses, making it easier and timelier for them to access this subsidy.”
• In the 2013/14 financial year Enable New Zealand received approximately 27,500 applications for the Spectacle subsidy
• For the current 2014/2015 financial year Enable New Zealand have already received approximately 16,500 applications to the end of January
