Four entities, MidCentral DHB Public Health Services and Child Health Service, THINK Hauora, Te Tihi o Ruahine Whānau Ora Alliance and Manawatu Horowhenua Tararua Diabetes Trust, will move from Main Street into the former RSA premises at 200 Broadway Avenue.
THINK Hauora Chief Executive Chiquita Hansen says “Our move will ensure continuity and provide a seamless transition for our community who access the health and wellbeing services we offer”.
The new premises, part refit and part new build, has functional spaces for customers, clients, clinicians and kaimahi that are welcoming including private reception areas and onsite visitor parking at the door.
Health on Main services, such as child health immunisations, self management sessions for people living with long term conditions, podiatry, mental health, nutrition and clinical exercise services will all cease on Thursday 12 December. These will resume at the Broadway Avenue site from Tuesday 17 December and no disruption to planned clinical appointments is expected.
MidCentral DHB’s Debbie Davies, Operations Exective, Primary, Public and Community Health, says the move will see the DHB’s Public Health Service relocate from Palmerston North Hospital campus to the Broadway Ave building.

Te Tihi o Ruahine o Whānau Ora Upoko Whakarae, Chief Executuive, Materoa Mar says “We are excited and pleased to be moving to new premises and continue to build our relationships with all our neighbours. Te Tihi o Ruahine Whānau Ora Alliance embraces and applies a whānau-centred whānau-led lens to all our mahi”.
A formal whakatuwheratanga, dawn ceremony, will be performed on Monday 2 December to prepare the site for staff and services. The ceremony will be led by Rangitane and local Māori leaders.
SupportLinks staff currently based at Health on Main will relocate to Rata House, in the Community Health Village at Palmerston North Hospital.
