National Health Board (NHB)
The National Health Board (NHB) was established by the New Zealand Government in November 2009. Its role is to overcome the challenges facing our health system and improve the quality, safety and sustainability of health care, for New Zealanders.
The website aims to inform the health and disability sector about the NHB and to actively engage with clinicians and the wider health sector, and be responsive to their needs.
Joint Oversight Group
The National Health Board, Ministry of Health and District Health Boards (DHBs) have formed a Joint Oversight Group.
The group provides key information about the NHB, Capital Investment Committee, Health Workforce New Zealand and Health IT Board. It will soon be updated to include the Health Quality and Safety Commission and Health Benefits Ltd.
