The Rehabilitation Process
The rehabilitation process aims at restoring lost abilities as much as possible and improving a patient’s quality of life.
Specialist rehabilitation staff access and treat a range of physical, cognitive and social needs encountered by people with a wide range of diagnoses including stroke, amputation, musculoskeletal and spinal cord injury in the post-acute stage.
By encouraging each person to actively participate in the individual rehabilitation programmes and by careful planning for discharge and follow-up the service can help patients to reach their maximum potential.
