Dialysis at Palmerston North Hospital’s Renal Unit
There is in centre renal dialysis for about 70 patients including dialysis chairs for complex renal patients. The unit is open from Monday to Saturday and has about four patient dialysis sessions each day, with patients generally having three sessions each week.
The renal unit is also supported by a self-care renal unit in STAR 3 Palmerston North Hospital that has eight dialysis chairs for the more independent patients.
