Residential Care for the Elderly
MidCentral District Health Board provides about 997 subsidised beds at rest home level care in 39 facilities. This comprises 433 continuing care (hospital level care) subsidised beds in 20 facilities, 147 dementia level care beds in 9 facilities and 16 psychogeriatric level care subsidised beds throughout Palmerston North, Manawatu, Horowhenua, Tararua and Otaki.

To see if you are eligible for a subsidised bed you will need to undergo a needs assessment through Enable New Zealand’s Supportlinks service.
