A wide range of accessible primary health care services are available throughout MidCentral's district. 

Services that are accessed out in the community are called Primary Care Services. They are a wide range of organisations mostly funded by the DHB that makes sure that health care is accessible to all those people who require it.

    Primary Health Organisations & General Practice (GPs)


    Central Primary Health Organisation (PHO) is located in the MidCentral health district, encompassing Otaki, Horowhenua, Manawatu and Tararua regions. It was formed in July 2010 from the Otaki, Horowhenua, Manawatu and Tararua PHOs.

    This section describes Disability Support Services available in MidCentral DHB for people 65 years and older. These operate in conjunction with public hospital inpatient and outpatient services from Palmerston North Hospital and Horowhenua Health Centre plus a number of community support groups.
