Speech Therapy

MidCentral Health’s speech-language therapists work in a variety of settings including hospitals, outpatient clinics, as well as in the community in peoples' own homes, rest homes and health centres.

What Does a Speech-Language Therapist do?

  • Work with people of all ages, needs and conditions
  • Provide assessment, treatment and/or management to people who have communication or swallowing difficulty.
  • Work with people of all ages and with many different needs and conditions. This includes people who have acquired neurological conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury and progressive disease like Parkinson’s or Motor Neurone Disease.
