Ward 24: Orthopaedics

Ward 24 is MidCentral Health’s orthopaedic ward, caring for patients with congenital abnormality, disease or trauma of the musculoskeletal system.

Ward 24 has 32 beds for patients who have had elective musculoskeletal surgery and for patients admitted to hospital with acute orthopaedic symptoms.

Visiting hours for Ward 24 are daily from 2pm-8pm. For more information about visiting please read General Information for Patients and Visitors.

Other MidCentral Health services such as social workers, physiotherapists and occupational therapists support patients in the ward. Services include the Palliative Care team, and Hospital in the Home.

The average length of stay for orthopaedic joint procedures is four days.
