Operating Theatres

MidCentral Health provides you with a 24 hour, seven days a week acute theatre and provides both day surgery and inpatient surgery whether you are an acute or elective patient.

At Palmerston North Hospital there are seven operating theatres, a 12-bed post anaesthetic care unit and a day of surgery admission area. 
There is also a six bed surgical short stay unit if you are having a minor procedure and need to stay for one night.







Surgery performed includes:

• Orthopaedic
• General and Vascular Surgery
• Gynaecology and Obstetric procedures
• OMF (Oro Maxillo Facial)/Dental, ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat)
• Ophthalmology
