Dannevirke Health Services

Services available in Dannevirke are located at the Gordon Street Clinic or at Dannevirke Community Hospital.

Transport to/from Palmerston North Hospital - St John’s Health Shuttle

This is a Monday – Friday service (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
Bookings are made through the Dannevirke Information Centre, Phone: (06) 374 4167 by 3:00 p.m. the day prior to appointment. You will be contacted with confirmation of departure time that evening.

Dannevirke Alcohol & Drug Services

The Alcohol & Drug Service is available in Dannevirke based at the Dannevirke Community Hospital.
Dannevirke Community Mental Health Service

The community mental health service works from either the base site at the Dannevirke Community Hospital or in the community, depending on the level of individual need, using local resources wherever possible.
Dannevirke Dental Services (infants to adolescents)

Dental treatment is free at all school dental clinics, for children from 6 months of age to end of year 8.
Dannevirke District Nursing

The district nursing service provides a range of nursing services to people in their own homes in Dannevirke and surrounding districts.
Dannevirke Occupational Therapy Services

Occupational therapy services are provided throughout the Tararua District from the Dannevirke site.
Dannevirke Outpatient Clinics

A range of outpatient clinics are available to the Tararua population from Dannevirke Community Hospital.

Physiotherapy provides outpatient treatment for acute to chronic conditions.

Dannevirke Social Worker

A medical social work service is provided in the Tararua community for people needing to access services such as home support, convalescent/continuing care, hospital discharge planning and personal/financial support.
Dannevirke Supportlinks

Supportlinks is a service for a person who has been identified as having a physical, neurological, intellectual, sensory or age related disability (or combination of these) which is likely to continue for a minimum of 6 months & results in a reduction of independent function to the extent that ongoing support is required.
Dannevirke Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapists

Visiting Neuro Development Therapists are registered Occupational Therapists or Physiotherapists who focus on the assessment of the babys/toddlers muscles and movements and how this impacts on their achievement of developmental skills.
