Rehabilitation Services
The rehabilitation service offers inpatient, outpatient and community services to people between the age of 16 and 64 with physical disabilities. The aim of the service is to create positive, challenging ways for clients to achieve their maximum potential.
The Rehabilitation Process
The rehabilitation process aims at restoring lost abilities as much as possible and improving a patient’s quality of life. Specialist rehabilitation staff access and treat a range of physical, cognitive and social needs encountered by people with a wide range of diagnoses including stroke, head injury, amputation, musculoskeletal and spinal cord injury in the post-acute stage.
By encouraging each person to actively participate in the individual rehabilitation programmes and by careful planning for discharge and follow-up the service can help patients to reach their maximum potential.
Rehabilitation Services District-Wide
