Prosthesis

A grant is available to women who have undergone either a mastectomy or partial mastectomy for prosthesis. The grant is available through HealthPAC (the Ministry of Health’s Payment Agency) 0800 252 464.

A medical certificate stating the requirement for the Breast Prosthesis Service will be required in order to obtain the funding. This should be done through your Surgeon or Breast Care Nurse.

The grant will be the amount of $600 for each 4 year period, and this should cover the cost of a prosthesis and special bras. At the end of the 4 year period any remaining balance will be forfeited and the entitlement for the next 4 year period will become available.
