Crisis Respite
Crisis respite is a short term intervention (usually one to two nights) for consumers/tangata whaiora who require constant observation and support, but who do not require admission to hospital.
A trained caregiver stays with the consumer/tangata whaiora who is receiving crisis respite care. The comfort and safety of consumer/tangata whaiora and caregivers is important and is considered when arranging crisis respite. Crisis respite may be provided within the hospital or at another place appropriate to the consumer's needs.
