Renal Unit
MidCentral Health’s renal unit is open six days a week for dialysis treatment and is committed to providing the highest quality service to people with renal failure, to encourage independence and to ensure patients have their maximum quality of life.
Dialysis at Palmerston North Hospital’s Renal Unit
There is in centre renal dialysis for about 70 patients including 15 dialysis chairs for complex renal patients. The unit is open from Monday to Saturday and has about four patient dialysis sessions each day, with patients generally having three sessions each week.
The renal unit is also supported by a self-care renal unit opposite Palmerston North Hospital that has six dialysis chairs for the more independent patients.
