Neurology
Neurology is the medicine concerned with how disease and disorders affect the nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves).
If you present to your primary care practitioner with a neurological-type symptom or sign you will be referred to one of MidCentral Health’s neurologists for assessment and, if required, the treatment and management of your condition.
Contact Neurology
Neurology services at MidCentral Health include:
- An outpatient-based service at Palmerston North Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Centre
- Neurophysiology, including EEG and nerve conduction studies
- As well as some inpatient care of neurology patients
Although MidCentral Health’s neurology service focuses primarily on adult neurological problems, referrals from specialist pediatricians are welcome.
