Maximising Independence for the Older Adult
The ElderHealth team maximises independence for older people by working with them, their Whanau and carers, to determine the treatment and care options that promote both dignity and quality of life.
ElderHealth at MidCentral Health
Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation (ATR) is the focus of the services provided by ElderHealth. There are inpatient wards for Geriatric and Psychogeriatric patients, outpatient clinics and community services are available where nurses and doctors visit patients in their own homes.
ElderHealth is co-located with Rehabilitation Services in the STAR Centre (Services for Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation) Palmerston North Hospital and Horowhenua Health Centre.
