Visiting Medical Imaging
Medical Imaging’s highly experienced and dedicated staff are devoted to providing an imaging service of a high standard and is one of the few public radiology departments in New Zealand holding IANZ accreditation for all services.
The department is located on the ground floor of the clinical support block, near the front entrance. Access is via the main entrance on Ruahine Street.
General X-rays are available on a walk-in basis at the following days/times:
- Monday, Tuesday and Friday: 8:30am to 4pm.
- Wednesday and Thursday: 9.30am to 4pm.
All other procedures require an appointment for which medical imaging require a written referral so the procedure may be prioritised.
There are staff on call for urgent services to the wards and emergency department outside of usual working hours.
Request forms
A request form is required for medical imaging to proceed with the examination. The request form can be faxed, posted to us, or brought in by the patient.
Results
Results for X-rays and/or scans are sent to the doctor requesting the examination and to the GP or other copies as indicated on the referral form. Reports are also available on the internal Éclair website.
