Consumer Council

The Consumer Council works in partnership with leaders of Te Whatu Ora MidCentral to support us in achieving our vision for Quality Living, Healthy Lives and Well Communities. The Council supports MidCentral in delivering its strategy, ensuring our services are consumer focused and meet the needs of people in our communities. The different voices and experiences of Consumer Council members will collectively help shape what we do and how we do it, ensuring consumers and whānau are encouraged and supported in participating in the co-design of services, delivery of care and decision-making at the level they choose. The Consumer council currently meets on a four weekly basis.

Join our Consumer Council and be the voice of the community! The different voices and experiences of Consumer Council members will collectively help shape what Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral does and how we do it, ensuring consumers and whānau are encouraged and supported in participating in the delivery of care and decision-making at the level they choose.

The Council works in partnership with Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral as an advisory body providing a collective perspective of those who use services, into health services planning, delivery and evaluation at all levels of the organisation.

The Council also provides advice and support to assist Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral in achieving a person and whānau-centred partnership, ensuring our local health sector and service delivery is designed for, and with its community.

The Council is chaired by Stephen Paewai, who has a passion for Māori and Rural health and is involved in a range of health service governance boards and groups.

We are looking to recruit members with an interest in health who could best represent the communities in the Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral rohe on a 12 month basis.
