Stu Smith
Stu is excited about the challenge ahead in health. He has the skills, integrity, enthusiasm and passion and plans on being an effective board member of our DHB.
Stu believes that investment in key areas such as more mobile surgical bus visits, increase transportation for rural areas, better home help packages of care for the elderly, and decrease waiting times in A & E.
He has a background as a skilled negotiator in human resource, health and disability and commercial business. He has comprehensive experience in community work, education, health, sports management, rotary, farming. He has studied at Massey University for BBS degree and is currently employed by the District Health Board.
Stu is supported by his partner Leoni and son Joseph on the family farm in Shannon. He sees health and wellbeing as the key to a better future. Your vote is an investment in your Health.
Conflict of Interest Statement
I am currently employed by the Funding Division of MidCentral District Health Board. To the best of my knowledge and belief, I have no other conflicts of interest with the DHB at the date of my notice of consent to being nominated as a candidate for membership of the board of the DHB.
I do not believe that any conflicts of interest are likely to arise in the future, other than my intended continued employment by the DHB.
