I am motivated to ensure appropriate health care is provided to our community. We face challenges in the current environment which mean potential threats to essential services.
I am a Registered Nurse with 15 years experience working at the Palmerston North hospital in the emergency department, women's health and medical and surgical wards. My involvement in reviews and change management across the hospital, gives me a wide understanding of the current issues facing the DHB.
I am currently on the national board of directors for the NZ Nurses Organisation. I serve the community through my role as Palmerston North Mayoress, and as local patron for Plunket and the National Council of Women.
I'm committed to ensuring resources are focused, to ensure health service provision is delivered in a way that meets the needs of the whole community, and that front line health services are not compromised.

Conflict of Interest Statement
I am currently employed by the MidCentral District Health Board as a Registered Nurse. I am also a director on the New Zealand Nurses Organisation Board of Directors. To the best of my knowledge and belief, I have no other conflicts of interest with the DHB at the date of my notice of consent to being nominated as a candidate for membership of the board of the DHB.
I do not believe that any conflicts of interest are likely to arise in the future, other than my intended continued employment by the DHB, and my role as director on the New Zealand Nurses Organisation Board of Directors.
